"Visitors safety remains the top priority for the mela police administration. To address potential risks, enhanced security would be in place at the ghats and rivers, ensuring vigilance during both routine and emergencies," Bhaskar added.
He said with the expansion of ghats, an 8Km long deep-water barricading would be constructed inside the twin rivers to prevent any mishaps.
A water scooter brigade would also patrol the areas between the ghats and rivers. This brigade, equipped with 25 water scooters, would ensure rapid response during emergencies.
"A budget of ₹6.25 lakh has been approved for this purpose. Additionally, two floating rescue stations would be established at the Sangam and VIP Ghats, equipped with first aid and essential equipment to handle accidents. Separate boats, including Anaconda boats, would also be provided to the PAC, with the tendering process for all equipment beginning on Oct 1," he said.
