“I was just not getting any time to shop this year,” shared Samriddhi Ghosh, who finally made it to New Market.

“I realised the whole of Kolkata might have been out shopping today!” The festive excitement was equally palpable in Gariahat. “The Pujo craze is back,” said Asmita Saha, as she navigated the bustling market.

For local shopkeepers, it’s a sign that Puja season is truly underway. “It finally feels like Puja is comin- our sales are getting back to what they were during past Puja seasons,” said a relieved shopkeeper near Gariahat.
