Shilpa Shirodkar, who made a grand entrance into the Bigg Boss 18 house by dancing to some of her hit songs from the 90s, recently spoke to Times of India TV. In the interview, the former 90s star shared her excitement about joining the reality show, mentioning that Bigg Boss has always been her favourite. She also discussed her family's reactions to her participation, including her sister
Namrata Shirodkar and brother-in-law, actor
Mahesh Babu, offering insight into their thoughts on her new journey.
Speaking about saying yes to Bigg Boss 18, Shilpa said, "I am a huge fan of Bigg Boss. I’ve watched every season of Bigg Boss and so when they called I was like OMG, I could potentially go there and get into the house and it all worked out. I am happy that I’m going into my favourite show’s home."
Shilpa Shirodkar and host
Salman Khan both began their Bollywood careers around the same time, though they never worked together. However, Shilpa’s sister, Namrata Shirodkar, did share the screen with Salman in Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai. When asked if her familiarity with Salman would benefit her in Bigg Boss 18, Shilpa responded, "Yes, Salman and I know each other because we belong to the same industry but we have never worked with each other. I don’t know Salman personally. It would be incorrect to say that I’m in a very comfortable space, I’m in a very comfortable space because I’m very comfortable with who I am and within myself. And of course, having him on the show is the best thing."

Bigg Boss 18 ContestantsShilpa was all praise for Salman Khan as the Bigg Boss host and says that nobody can host the show better than him, "He is one of the best hosts we have seen on most of these reality shows. I think he is a very fair host, he doesn’t spare you because you are his colleague or co-actor. He is truly I personally feel very fair. He takes up for those who he really feels need that extra confidence. If someone is losing confidence, he talks about that issue and uses a very amazing tone. He is superb and nobody can deny the fact that he is the best host on Bigg Boss."
Talking about her husband and daughter's reaction, she said, "My husband, my daughter my sister and my family are extremely proud of me. They are very happy and like I said I’ve watched the season, so I used to always say Mujhe Yahan Jana hai… in fact my daughter also used to say mumma you should go there. Especially after watching the fights in the show. How kids think mothers are the most nagging creatures, they love to fight, correct so she used to always say that. When it actually happened she was like “OMG Mom you are actually going on the Bigg Boss.” They are very happy. My daughter told me to just go there and have a blast, there will be stuff that will happen in the house, but just be yourself and that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I’m just going to be my best version."
She also spoke about her sister Namrata and brother-in-law Mahesh Babu's reaction to her doing Bigg Boss 18, "They all are very happy for me (Namrata and Mahesh Babu). They are very proud of me and they just know that whatever I do I’ll do for myself. I know I’m going to make them very proud. As a family, we are a very close-knit family. They all are very supportive of me and so is my Niece and my nephew as well," she concluded.
