Manchester United's misery in the Premier League continued on Friday night. The Red Devils were handed a 1-0 loss by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge which was their 18th loss of the league season, compounding problems for the Ruben Amorim side. With just 39 points from 37 games, Manchester United sit just two positions above the relegation zone at 16th place.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. “What are the positives with this team?” said Keane on Sky Sports. “You sit up and watch certain teams, and you hang your hat or something. You say they’re really technically very good, they’re fit, they’re brilliant, they’re good at set-pieces. You look at United and go, they’re not really good at anything,” he said.“The fans, even here tonight, I don’t think the United fans are angry anymore. It’s just an acceptance. Even the manager’s interview there, he’s accepting where they are. Now, obviously, you have to be realistic, but you still want to show emotion and a bit of anger. I think United fans will be going back up the motorway to Manchester tonight going: ‘Oh, that’s what we thought would probably happen.’ And that’s a sad thing to do,” he added.Despite reaching the final of the Europa League, where they play fellow struggling Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, it has been another forgettable season for once the giants of European football.
Keane believes if United don't win the Europa League title, the lure of joining the Old Trafford club will drop further. “If they don’t win (the Europa League final) next week, I think the days of everyone wanting to go to Manchester United are gone. I don’t think there’ll be players looking to sign for Manchester United. That’s gone, that bit of excitement with the club,” he said.Manchester United and unwanted league records
