3 reasons John Cena will lose at WWE WrestleMania 41 despite shocking heel turn

John Cena, after turning heel at the 2025 Elimination Chamber PLE, might not win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. Physical limitations, Cody Rhodes' allies, and WWE potentially delaying Cena's record-setting championship win until his farewell tour's end could hinder his chances of defeating current champion Cody Rhodes.

John Cena might not walk out of WrestleMania 41 as the WWE Champion despite making the major decision to turn heel.
John Cena lived by the principles of 'Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect' for two decades in WWE. However, at the 2025 Elimination Chamber PLE, he shocked the world by turning heel and unleashing his evil side on the entire WWE landscape. Cena berated the fans for being abusive towards him for a long time, and he no longer cared for them.
Moreover, Cena is on his farewell tour, which will see the end of his career in December 2025. Realizing that he has a clock ticking on him and his last few WWE aspirations, Cena decided to go rogue, being a possible reason for his heel turn. However, despite that, here are three reasons he might still lose to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41:

3. Physical limitations in front of Cody Rhodes

It is no secret that John Cena is not in the prime of his physical condition in the ring. While he can still go inside the sqaured circle, his performances in the last few years have shown his limitations in the ring. Moreover, going up against one of the best in-ring performers today, the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes makes his task even more difficult to dethrone him for the title at WrestleMania 41.

2. His dominant force neutrilized by Cody Rhodes allies

As the fans witnessed, John Cena turned heel and joined forces with The Rock at the 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber PLE. This could very well mean that The Rock will have a strong presence in Cena's match against Cody Rhodes. Moreover, Cena could find himself backed by more allies like Travis Scott who was also part of the beatdown to Rhodes at Elimination Chamber to ensure his WrestleMania win. However, the threat could be neutralized by some of Cody Rhodes allies, such as Seth Rollins, who helped him last year as well at WrestleMania and Stone Cold Steve Austin, who is highly rumored to make an appearance at WrestleMania 41.

1. WWE deciding to push his championship pursuit till the end

One of John Cena's main priority on his farewell tour is winning a record-smashing 17th World Championship. While that win at WrestleMania 41 would have a huge impact, WWE can choose to delay it and make it more iconic. This could see them book Cena in a title bout in the last match of his farewell tour. John Cena winning and retiring as the 17-time WWE Champion can prove to be more iconic than him winning the title at WrestleMania 41.
